Personal supervision - support and control
At Kunskapsskolan, you will have a teacher as your personal tutor who will help you to set your goals, break down termly goals into weekly goals and help and train you in planning and following up your school work.Your personal tutor will be available for support and control. You will meet in private, for a quarter of an hour each week, to make sure that your work is progressing according to plan and that you are finding your learning strategies, and to see whether you can challenge your limits a little more. As you learn to set your goals and plan your time yourself, you will be allowed to take a greater responsibility for your own studies. The personal supervision is the most important factor in ensuring that your personalised education is really functioning properly.
Development discussionsTogether with your parents and the teacher who is your personal tutor, you will meet at the beginning of each term for a development discussion. Here, you will discuss your long-term goals - what grades you are aiming at. You will discuss how your goals have been reached so far and whether there is any goal which should be raised or lowered. You will also talk about your learning strategies - how you are going to reach your goals. The development discussion will be documented in your individual study plan.
Individual study planYour individual study plan includes your long-term goals, the grades which you wish to attain when you complete the final year and your personal goals for the term in your various subjects. It also includes your personal learning strategies.
Individual tutorial discussionsEach week you will meet your tutor for an individual discussion when you and your tutor will review your goals and your weekly planning. You will talk about how the work has progressed during the week, whether or not you have reached your goals and what you will do in the coming week. You will also talk about whether the way in which you are working is functioning well or whether there is anything which you need to change. The individual tutorial discussions will be documented in your logbook.
The logbookIn addition to your long-term goals and your termly goals, your logbook includes your weekly goals andyour personal timetable for each week, together with a follow-up of your work and your results. Your timetablewill include lectures, workshops, seminars, tasks at the Knowledge Portal and other things which the school offers. You will also fit into the timetable the times when you will be working in a group or on your own with various tasks. Your parents can continuously follow your work and progress in your logbook.
